It is 7 hour run. By rail New Jalpaiguri is overnight journey and by air it is 1 hour flight from Kolkata. Attractive places in Darjeeling are the Zoo where you can see Red Panda and Himalayan Leopard and Bear. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway for viewing Kanchanjangha from very near, Rock Garden, Joy ride by heritage Toy train, Batasia Loop, Ghum Rail Station and Monastry, Tiger Hill are other tourist attractions.
